Kenya Airways launches direct flights to London’s Gatwick Airport

|

Airlines

Kenya Airways (KQ) will be launching yet another direct flight to London’s Gatwick Airport starting July 2, this year the airline has announced in its latest announcement in its newsletter.

The new route offers travellers greater flexibility and convenient travel options for passengers travelling between Kenya and the United Kingdom, as it further increases the weekly London flights to 10.

The new Gatwick route will operate three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing Nairobi at night.

“Starting July 2, 2025, Kenya Airways will enhance service to the United Kingdom (UK) by launching direct flights to London’s Gatwick Airport (LGW) from our hub at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

This addition to the existing flights to Heathrow Airport provides customers with greater flexibility and choice when travelling between Kenya and the UK,” the airline said.

KQ’s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Allan Kilavuka, said other than enhancing customer convenience, the Gatwick route launch aligns with the airline’s broader route expansion strategy.

“The United Kingdom is essential and strategic for Kenya Airways and Kenya as it provides a gateway for trade, tourism, education, business, leisure travel, and diaspora connections.

The new service underscores our commitment to fostering stronger ties between Kenya and the UK, offering greater accessibility and flexibility for travellers while supporting trade and tourism,” he said.
