Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park:
After a hearty breakfast, your driver-guide will take you to Kisoro, Uganda, located at the base of the stunning Virunga Volcanoes. Enjoy the picturesque drive through the beautiful “land of a thousand hills,” where spectacular views of the volcanoes will enchant you, especially if you’re coming from Kigali. Alternatively, you can travel to Kisoro via Entebbe International Airport. Upon your arrival, take the afternoon to unwind and prepare for the exciting trekking and hiking adventures ahead. If time is tight, consider a morning flight from Entebbe Airport to Kisoro Airstrip, maximizing your time at the lodge, participating in local community activities, or simply relaxing amidst the tranquil surroundings

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking

A ranger guide will share essential information about the park at the visitors information center as you embark on your quest to locate these lively primates. Given the steep terrain, hiring a porter is recommended for added support. Enforcement officers will accompany you to ensure safety during any encounters with wildlife, such as buffaloes or elephants. Enjoy the energetic and social nature of the golden monkeys as you observe their feeding habits for one hour before returning to your lodge.

Day 3: Batwa Trail
Meet the Batwa, an indigenous tribe that once thrived in the forests of the Virunga Volcanoes before the area was designated as a national park.
